IDoc message type DESADV

The DESADV is the IDoc message type for delivery: shipping notification. The outbound IDoc can be used to transmit data from the delivery document and the inbound IDoc can be used to receive data, e.g. goods that the goods recipient partner has posted.

Creation

Outbound

Message control can be used to transmit the delivery to a partner. Condition records with respective key combinations are maintained for the message type. For example, goods recipient. If the goods recipient in the delivery document now corresponds to the condition record, the message is generated.

In the partner agreement, the application V2 for shipping is selected in the 'Message control' tab, the message type that is to generate an EDI message and the process code that ultimately generates the IDoc. For example, behind the process code 'DELV' there is the FM 'IDOC_OUTPUT_DELVRY'.

Inbound

If the entry in the partner agreements has been maintained accordingly, the FM 'IDOC_INPUT_DELVRY' is executed and the inbound IDoc is processed.
